Underground home in the Swiss Alps
The design blog dornob recently shared pictures of a unique underground home in Switzerland. It has some quite spectacular architecture. I'm not so sure how eager I would be to move in, but it sure has an incredible view of the mountains. Take a look at some of the pictures below, and check out dornob's blog entry.

"Hands On Chair" by Joon Soo Kim
I personally would prefer to stay away from these chairs, but for those of you that are not claustro/agoraphobic might want to make use of this for intimate moments in the office. These chairs "hold hands" creating the perfect environment for office makeout sessions...

The New York Times recently did a photo shoot of the newly renovated home of the Oscar-nominated cinematographer Claudio Miranda (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). Some of the house's new features include an expansive bathroom skylight and a storage-efficient headboard. Check out the New York Times photo slideshow here. Apple building is not what you think...
Check out these building designs submitted for the 2010 World Expo. They are bananaaaas (or apples)!
And by the way, that last one is made of used CD Cases, whoever said the music industry is dying is clearly an idiot.

Confederate P120 Fighter Combat
Sure this has nothing to do with interior design, but what a beautiful bike... It belongs in Batman's lair, ooo wait he destroyed it in The Dark Night. Anyways, the guys at Confederate are doing a great job, just one comment, dont call your bike a Fighter Combat if I cant use it to shoot rockets. Check out Confederate's website and a similarly gutsy wall clock at our store.

Rubik's Cubes and Art -- An Unlikely Pair
Freshome recently had an excellent post highlighting the work of Cube Works, a group of designers who create detailed reproductions of iconic images entirely out of Rubik's cubes. It's quite an interesting find. Check out the pictures below, and take a look at both freshome's article and Cube Works' website!
Banq Restaurant Boston
Modern and contemporary, seemingly simple with layers of intricacy, this restaurant design will have you craving more... wood? The Banq Restaurant in Boston offers a twist on contemporary design brought together by variations of wood, including bamboo for the dining area and birch plywood to create somewhat of a droopy effect. It's definately worth a glance... if you happen to be in Boston. Just please dont bring along your bamboo cutout cutlery, that would be embarassing.

Bamboo cut-out cutlery
Although this is not meant to be used daily as your cutlery, a few designers have come together to make what seems to be the first commercial bamboo and hemp picnic set (Link). Take this cut-out cutlery with you the next time you're on your eco-friendly picnic with that hippie you met at rainbow rhythms dance class...
